Zeppelin Fabric and Pieces of Zeppelin Frames. 11.5cm x 13.4cm of fabric has four heavy fold lines which are barely still holding together. On the from the a drawing of the cathedral labeled "Rheims 1918 / France." Underneath is written "Balloon Fabric / Shot down by Germans / Nomad Woods. 1918." The reverse has two stars, one with an Observer's badge and the other with a tank in the center." Piece of aluminum frame engraved, "Zeppelin L.Z. 79 / détruit a Main Vault / -Belgique- / le 30 Janvier / 1916." Approximately 17cm x 12.5cm overall. Piece of aluminum frame with attached medallion, "RELIC OF / ZEPPELIN-L-21 / SHOTDOWN NIGHT . OF. SEPT. 23RD / 1916 / AT CUFFLEY, ENGLAND." Main part measures 3cm x 25.5cm. Small pieces of frame with partial tag, "L33 1916 CRA. . ." 11cm x 8cm. Some of these pieces are pictured on page 57 of Jane Kimball's book Trench Art: An Illustrated History. Estimate: $200 - $300
