Greatest Library Ever: Trench Art French 75mm Shell. French 75mm shell is 34.5cm tall, has punched embossed background with raised relief and engraved detail allegorical vignette depicting females in classical 1910's - early 1920's hairstyles and garb surrounding and emerging from the pages of a giant book, both fully-clothed and in varying stages of undress, with a nicely detailed rose floral motif on the opposing side.  There is a story here, perhaps one that someone other than a clod from Southeast Missouri such as myself might instantly recognize.  Very interesting shell!  Unpolished, nice patina and good strong details.  Estimate: $200 - $250
