Estimate: $200 - $300 Historical Background: A Collection of Bavarian Medals and Veterans Badges refers to an assortment of insignia and decorations related to the history of Bavaria, a German state, particularly focusing on military service and veterans' organizations. These collections often span various periods, including the Kingdom of Bavaria era, Imperial Germany, and the World Wars. Such items typically reflect significant events, acts of bravery, or membership in specific military or veterans' associations. They can vary widely in form, from official service awards to commemorative badges issued by private organizations. For instance, items within the collection might include specific veteran badges, such as those from the Warrior League (*Kriegerbund*). A World War I Bavarian Warrior League Badge, for example, is often crafted from gold-plated stamped brass, featuring details like a crown, a sword, and a painted blue and white diamond-patterned shield—the Bavarian colors—with the motto, "In Treue Fest" (In True Faith). These medals and badges serve not only as historical artifacts but also as tangible symbols of the commitment, loyalty, and service of Bavarian soldiers and veterans.
