Estimate: $200 - $400 Historical Background: The Sachsen-Weimar Napoleonic Service Medals refer to awards given by the Grand Duchy of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach for service during the Napoleonic Wars (roughly 1803-1815). Although official military decorations for common soldiers were relatively rare during this era compared to later conflicts, various German states—including those within the Confederation of the Rhine and those opposing Napoleon—instituted specific campaign or long-service awards. Given the period, these medals were typically simple in design, often bronze or silver, and recognized participation in battles or campaigns where troops from Sachsen-Weimar were involved.
