Estimate: $200-300 Historical Background: The Prussian Napoleonic Campaign Medals mark a significant turning point in the history of military awards. The Napoleonic Wars ushered in the era of the modern campaign medal, signifying that soldiers of all ranks were eligible to receive an award for their service. These medals commemorated pivotal battles and campaigns, recognizing the large numbers of soldiers who participated on all sides of the conflict. Examples of these awards include the 1815 Waterloo Medal, the 1815 Ligny Medal, and the 1814 War with France Medal. Some of these historical pieces were even reportedly made from captured cannon, similar to how the British Victoria Cross was later created from captured Russian cannon. These medals serve as lasting testaments to the service of Prussian soldiers during the Napoleonic Wars.
