Estimate: $150 - $250 Historical Background: The Bavarian Military Cross Medals for the 1813-1814 Napoleonic Campaigns, also known as the German States Bavaria Campaign Cross 1813-1814, is a significant historic military decoration. Originally named the Militardenkzeichen, this bronze cross was awarded in Bavaria for participation in the campaigns that took place from 1813 to 1814 against Napoleon's France. These conflicts were part of the broader Napoleonic Wars, a series of European conflicts that lasted from approximately 1800 to 1815. This campaign cross serves as a tangible artifact recognizing the valor and dedication of those who served during a pivotal period in early 19th-century Bavarian military history. The decoration measures about 37.6x32.2mm and weighs 10.45 grams. The ribbon for the medal featured black edge stripes and a golden yellow center stripe. From 1814 to 1848, the ribbon was worn in the buttonhole, later converting to the standard tri-fold ribbon after 1848.
